This Friday, 18 March 2022, the “Exclusieve Dalí Tentoonstelling” exhibition will be inaugurated with the exhibition of a selection of sculptures and graphics from the Dalí Universe Collection at the art gallery The Boutique Gallery, located in the city of Sint-Martens-Latem, Belgium.
The exhibition is the result of a fruitful collaboration between Dalí Universe and the Boutique Gallery, which brings to the Belgian city the exceptional collection of bronze sculptures created by the master of Surrealism, and the unique opportunity to admire the richness of surrealist iconography Daliniana that the Catalan artist created during his lifetime.
“For the first time, The Boutique Gallery hosts the sculptures and graphics of the Dalí Universe Collection, offering the extraordinary opportunity to admire Dalí’s iconic work within the splendid spaces of the Belgian art gallery,” announces James Sanders, Project Manager of the Dalí Universe.
Among the twelve sculptures of the Dalí Universe Collection that Mr. Beniamino Levi, President of the Dalí Universe, began collecting in the 1960s, following his meeting with Salvador Dalí, the exhibition will display “Alice in Wonderland”, the “Nobility of Time” and the “Horse with Soft Clock”.
Fourteen graphics from the Dalí Universe Collection will be exhibited alongside these sculptures, revealing the spectacular artistic creativity of Salvador Dalí. Among them we mention “Omaggio alla moda”, “Flordali I” and “The Puzzle of Life”.
“Salvador Dalí was not just a painter, but a multifaceted artist in the true sense of the word,” states Mr. Beniamino Levi, adding: “Dalí himself declared `Painting is an infinitely small part of my personalityʼ”.
The multiple edition bronze sculpture “Nobility of Time” will illustrate to the public Dalin’s obsession with time through the soft clock, one of Dalí’s best-known images, which has its origins in the famous 1931 painting, “The Persistence of Memory”.
It was Beniamino Levi himself who inspired Dalí’s sculptural production. During meetings with the Catalan artist, Levi had noticed Dalí’s fascinating ability to use different mediums to express his art, and decided to dedicate his entire life to collecting Dalí’s works, focusing on three-dimensional creations.
The “Exclusieve Dalí Tentoonstelling” exhibition will remain open to the public until Sunday 29 May 2022.
